We’re learning more and more about the Death Knight, WoW’s first hero class.

  • You can only create only one Death Knight per server.
  • You must be level 55 or greater to become a Death Knight.
  • Following from the previous point, once you convert, you will begin your Death Knight career at level 55.
  • Death Knights can be any race.
  • All Death Knights begin with a customized collection of quests to teach you how to play your new hero class.
  • They will have a two-tiered resource system.

And in other World of Warcraft news, it seems as though we’ll also be able to attack Arthas the Lich King at some point along Blizzard’s patch cycle for this much-anticipated expansion.

Oh boy, I’m growing more and more eager for Wrath of the Lich King!

Word from WoW Insider is that Wrath of the Lich King, the long & eagerly anticipated expansion to our wondrous virtual life in World of Warcraft, has officially entered the Alpha phase of development.

Wrath of the Lich King will raise the level cap to 80 and introduce the first hero class: the Death Knight.

The expansion is in closed alpha testing, and with this comes the potential for low-life scammers to take advantage of those desiring to take a peak, so WoW Insider has the following wise words for you to consider:

A word to the wise: this is not an open beta, and any email or site that tells you to sign up for one is still scamming you. When open beta comes down, we’ll hear about it on Blizzard’s official site. This is just news that the next expansion has moved up a notch in its development, and that we’re one step closer to an official open beta.

So be patient, my fellow denizens of Azeroth. Our time will come. :)

Check out this article in a Florida newspaper. I love it:

WoW Player Sues WoW Gold Seller In Federal Court

I have no idea if he’ll actually accomplish anything with this lawsuit, but I cheer any individual’s attempts to defend the integrity of Azeroth’s economy. A little glimpse of the article for you:

Antonio Hernandez has called on his fellow adventurers to join him as he takes a stand. The battle won’t be fought with wands or swords. It will be waged in the Fort Lauderdale federal courthouse. The former assistant manager at an Orlando-area video game store is suing a company he says sells “virtual gold” from the World of Warcraft for real money.

He wants IGE U.S. banned from selling gold — a practice commonly called “gold farming” or “real money trading”— because it hurts the game’s economy and ruins the entertainment experience, according to the lawsuit.

Go Antonio!

Frankly, people who buy gold that way are just plain stupid. You buy your gold, you spend your gold and then guess what? You have to buy it all over again!

This is why I strongly advocate savvy players to instead buy a proper gold guide. You learn the most effective and efficient ways to earn gold fast in legal, legitimate ways. Then you never need to spend another dime of your real world cash. I just can’t believe how lazy and stupid some people can be. I’m sorry to sound harsh, but seriously people. This isn’t brain surgery.

I’ve studied dozens of guides on websites and bought over a half a dozen professional guides. I’ve tested and prodded and I’m confident I’ve found the two very best guides for gamers of all levels and characters of all types.

If you take the time to study one of the following two gold guides — each of which are constantly updated and improved by their authors — you’ll make yourself gold just as fast as a professional gold seller without ruining the World of Warcraft economy or risking the banning of your account (you really don’t want a ban battle with Blizzard, do you?).

You buy one or two low cost guides and you never waste another dime of your real world money. It’s simple. Check out my reviews of these two guides by clicking the links at the top of the sidebar there on the right, or visit the product pages directly here:

Valkor’s Gold-Making Guide

The BBC has published an article about a bot designer & seller being sued by Blizzard.

Legal Battle Over WoW Gold Making & WoW Leveling Bot

I say, “Go Blizzard!” But as you can probaby tell from my site, it’s really difficult for me to remain impartial on this issue. I’ve seen some discussion in the WoW world where people are actually defending this guy and arguing that at the very least, he isn’t doing anything technically illegal.

Bah! :(

While I understand the argument that he isn’t actually changing or using any code created and compiled by Blizzard (is this entirely true if it has to run within the structure of the game?), this isn’t a simple matter of people buying and using this ridiculous bot to make gold faster or level-up faster.

These sorts of tools catalyze a whole industry of people making money through power leveling and gold farming services which ruin the in-game economy and provide hours of frustration for legitimate players dealing with unfairly balanced rivals.

It’s stunning to me how many people are willing to subvert their morality to fulfill a power fantasy. This game is supposed to be a rich, immersive and rewarding way to spend your time. Do you really need to rely on such inherently corrupt tools and services to enjoy your life?

It doesn’t even make sense on a purely reasonable level. Why spend money on a service that only offers gold you’ll eventually spend and need to buy all over again when you can learn the most efficient & fast ways to make gold for yourself and never have to waste your real money trying to keep up with your friends? (For example, read my review of the infamous Derek’s Gold Mastery Guide.)

Why create yourself a cocoon of stress by spending money on controversial tools which could get you banned or will completely stop functioning with Blizzard code changes when you can learn advanced leveling or gold-making skills yourself and never fear the loss of your account or the loss of your ability to succeed?

Stop being so darn lazy, people!!

If you’re reading this thinking, “but I’ve tried to learn and these tools do more for me than any skill I’ve discovered!” Then you just haven’t learned the right skills! Check out these resources for professional lessons on leveling and gold-making. Utilizing the techniques taught in these guides, you’ll out-level power levelers and out-earn gold farmers.

Don’t believe me? All these guides come with a generous 8-week guarantee, if one of them doesn’t work for you, return it hassle-free then come back here and unleash the insults upon me. I’m not concerned because I know you’ll be too busy savoring your time within World of Warcraft more than ever before. :)

These guides are all well-established and well-respected. They’re considered standard reading for anyone serious about making the most of their time in World of Warcraft, and in fact, many of the techniques are used by those idiots you may already be paying to do the fun for you.

I hope this helps and here’s to Blizzard stopping these ridiculous game-ruining bots!!

The European WoW site has published an excellent essay on the effects and consequence of buying gold with real money or buying power leveling services.

As my visitors know, I feel very strongly about these issues and urge you to consider not only the immediate effects of engaging in such lame activity, but also the long-term consequences on the integrity and quality of the overall World of Warcraft experience.

The articles I write and the guides I endorse strictly adhere to ethical and gameplay standards which contribute to the quality and substance of not only your experience, but everyone’s experience with this great game.

WoW Gold Selling: Effects and Consequences

I understand how desperate many of you feel to have more gold to free up your fun with World of Warcraft.  However, why spend your real world hard-earned cash on temporary gold when you can spend that same money just once on established, reputable gold guides that will teach you how to legitimately make more gold faster for yourself whenever you need?

These guides teach you how to better enjoy the game and they pay for themselves over and over and over without ever spending another dime of your real world money and without incurring the wrath of the designers of the game.

Stop breaking the game and start down the road of legitimate WoW gold mastery with my reviews of these two wow gold guides:
